Cheap Knife Training Aids

Halloween is just around the corner.

Yeah, you say, so what.

Well, Halloween brings us a unique opportunity to grab a few knife defense training aids on the cheap. These are great for your close quarters combat training routine.

Maybe you've never thought of it this way, but there is a virtual gold mine of close quarter combat training aids, especially edged weapon defense!!

You'll want to get these things now, that way you'll go virtually unnoticed and no one will even question your true reason for buying these "Halloween accessories".

Here's a list of what you'll need to pick up this weekend:

1. Training Knife - $2.50

Training weapons can run as much as $20 in martial arts catalog! But, you can get them for next to nothing this time of year. And the rubber knives they carry in the Halloween store now are amazingly realistic looking. You can even get one that already looks "bloody" for a more realistic touch.

2. Fake Blood - $.99

In a real life knife fight, you're pretty much guaranteed to get cut at some point. Simply the sight of blood is enough to send some people into shock and it's slippery texture can make it more difficult to grab or hold onto your attacker and your weapon. This makes fake blood an excellent training aid to spread on your face and hands for a realistic look and feel.

3. Red Lipstick Makeup - $.50

This is a really great technique and one of my favorite knife fighting training tips! Be sure to grab some washable red lipstick when your at the Halloween store. Here's what you do...right before you begin your edged weapon training, put some of the red lipstick on the edge of your fake training knife blade.
Now, when you go through your knife disarm training the red lipstick will will leave marks on your clothing and skin, showing you EXACTLY where you would have been cut in a real knife fight!

Those are just a couple of cool edged weapon training tactics that you can use at home with very little expense. I'm sure once you get going you'll come up with other ideas as well. When you do, feel free to come back here and share them!

Remember, realism is one key component when it comes to training to defend against a knife attack. And with only a few bucks spent and a little ingenuity you can really take your edged weapon defense training to a whole new level.
